Game Drives

Game Drives

Game drives are tailored to our guests’ wildlife interests. The plains, the acacia and euphorbia forests are home to many species of mammals including the endangered Rothschild giraffe and a wide variety of antelopes. Lake Elmenteita itself makes a superb safari game drive venue and is also famous for its flamingo and great white pelican. Its shoreline is also grazed by zebra, gazelle, eland, buffalo and families of warthog.

Note: Soysambu Conservancy requires that only 4 wheel drive vehicles be used for game drives. Moreover, guests must be accompanied by one of our guides when driving on the Conservancy in their own cars.
Departure time: 9am and 4 pm for day game drives
Duration: day game drives last up to 2h30
Suggestions: why not combine your game drive with a bush breakfast or evening sundowner?

Night or evening game drives

A night game drive on Soysambu is an experience not to be missed. The elusive leopard, springhares and aardvarks can more easily be spotted at night. Your guide will have a powerful spotlight, which will allow you to view wildlife and the African bush in all of its nocturnal mystery.
